The Canadian Institute of Retailing and Services (CIRAS) is an institute that runs within the Alberta School of Business at the University of Alberta.  Since 1991, CIRAS has offered training and research for those in the retail and services fields.  CIRAS instructs advanced management practices that enhances the professionalism of these industries.  We strive to deliver high-quality education and training that through the dissemination of new knowledge will benefit all those involved.

Our mandate is clear.  We strive to be the Canadian centre for excellence in the education of future participants and leaders in the retailing and service sector and to enhance productivity and competitiveness of the industry through applied and theoretical research.
